CONSULTING

Basic Info

We enhance teaching effectiveness by leading campus conversations, guiding committee discussions, and providing feedback on evaluation materials.

Our consulting services help institutions improve their definition, evaluation, and documentation of teaching effectiveness through research-based strategies, which may include the development of peer observation programs and the revision of student evaluations of instruction.

The first hour is always free as we work together to determine whether to pursue a longer-term arrangement. For long-term consulting relationships, we prefer to compile a proposal for the scope of work that includes expected deliverables, billable hours, and a block of consulting hours. Consulting can be conducted in person or virtually.

Consulting Topics

  • Establishing shared expectations for teaching effectiveness grounded in research as well as institutional context.

  • Developing rubrics and other supporting materials to facilitate the evaluation of teaching effectiveness.

  • Identifying evidence and craftin a narrative of teaching effectiveness.

  • Building a peer observation program grounded in a shared, research-based understanding of teaching effectiveness.

  • Revising student evaluations of teaching to align questions with evidence-based practices and reduce bias
